BIOGRAPHY
Maurizio Grandinetti's activities span across solo recitals, contemporary and chamber music and improvisations, performing on classical as well as on electric guitars, and accompanying himself with several electronic devices.
His vast, poliedric repertoire is particularly oriented towards contemporary and avant-garde music. He has premiered countless performances of new works for guitar and many composers wrote for him.
He plays regularly with several Orchestra such as Basel Symphony Orchestra and Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under the conduction of Pierre Boulez, Heinz Holliger, Peter Rundell, Jürg Henneberger a.o..
Since 2000 he has been a member of the Ensemble Phoenix Basel.
He composed music for the stage and worked closely with the German Director Joachim Schlömer. He also composes instrumental music and has deep insight on re-arranging renaissance and baroque music.
His recordings of Cds and radio broadcasting documents his poliedric personality.
2010-11 he was Artist in Residence at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten, Austria.
He is professor for guitar at the Conservatory in Como, Italy .
